Templates are a great way to empower users to create new quotes fast and to a consistent standard. A quote started from a template comes with pre-set scope elements and relative allocation of fees across workstreams. The user simply fills in Total Fees and their quote is ready!
Creating templates is straightforward. Click on the Create Template button in the home screen, and follow the same flow as when creating a quote from scratch.
Make sure to assign a work type to your template - otherwise the users won't be able to find it when trying to create a quote from a template.
Handling fees in templates
You can configure template fees in two ways:
- pre-set
relative allocationsacrossscope items(e.g. a scope item DD might have pre-set absolute allocation of $15,000-20,000). This works great for highly predictable work types and / or pre-packaged products; or - pre-set
relative allocationsacrossscope items(e.g. a scope item DD might have pre-set relative allocation of 20% of total fees). This allows the user of a template to easily addtotal feeswhen creating an individual quote from that template, and have those total fees propagate across the component scope items.
Managing existing templates
You can edit and delete existing templates - head to Manage Templates button in the home screen.
