The Ayora agent is an AI assistant that helps users work with quote, precedent, document, and matter information in Ayora. Depending on how your organisation has configured it, the agent can help with quote building, precedent search, document interpretation, quote updates, matter analysis, downloadable Word or Excel outputs, and saving an agreed pricing approach as an Ayora Quote Builder quote.
The agent is designed to work with the information available in your Ayora environment. It can use conversation context, uploaded documents, permitted quote data, permitted matter data, and configured tools to help you move from a question or document to a practical next step.
What the Agent Can Help With
The available capabilities depend on your organisation's configuration and your permissions, but the Ayora agent may support these workflows.
| Workflow | What the agent can help with |
|---|---|
| Quote building | Gather quote inputs, search for relevant precedents, compare fee bounds, estimate matter components, perform pricing calculations, and take an agreed pricing approach through to a saved Ayora Quote Builder quote. |
| Precedent search | Search historic quotes by scope, worktype, fee bounds, client names, characteristics, workstreams, or related matter details. |
| Document interpretation | Review uploaded legal, transaction, procurement, briefing, RFP, RFI, or ITT documents and extract structured information for quote building or analysis. |
| Quote updates | Read or update quote details, pricing items, fee-earner contributions, and related quote-builder information where the relevant quote update capability is available. |
| Matter management | Search and analyse matters, time entries, WIP, budgets, interventions, matter messages, and team actions in Ayora Manage where available. |
| Narrative drafting | Draft illustrative assumptions, RFP response sections, or commentary from the information provided. |
| Document generation | Create downloadable Word or Excel outputs, such as summaries, reports, or structured tables. |
How the Agent Works
When you start a conversation, Ayora selects the configured agent for that workflow. The core Ayora agent is broad: depending on your organisation's configuration, it can support M&A, Commercial Real Estate, matter management, and quote updates alongside quote building and precedent search. A separate rate-card extraction agent exists as a specialised admin utility for extracting lawyer rate cards from uploaded pricing documents, outside the main conversational workflow.
During a conversation, the agent can:
- Read the conversation so far.
- Use configured skills and tools that are available to that agent.
- Ask for more information when required.
- Search, calculate, analyse, extract, update, or generate outputs when the relevant capability is available.
- Save an agreed pricing approach as an Ayora Quote Builder quote where that capability is available.
- Stream a response back to you and, where supported, return saved quotes, quote updates, frontend actions, or downloadable files.
Some capabilities are available from the start of the conversation. Others are loaded only when the conversation calls for them, such as document interpretation, matter-management actions, narrative drafting, or document generation. This helps the agent use the right guidance and tools for the task at hand.
Good Ways to Ask
Clear prompts help the agent choose the right workflow and reduce follow-up questions.
Examples:
- "Find similar M&A quotes for this scope and show the fee bounds."
- "Extract the key pricing inputs from this RFP."
- "Compare historic quotes for this worktype and explain the spread."
- "Take this RFP from scope and precedent analysis through to a pricing recommendation, then save the agreed approach as an Ayora Quote Builder quote."
- "Update this quote with the revised fee range."
- "Show matters with high WIP risk and summarise the main drivers."
- "Create a Word summary of these matter findings."
When possible, include useful context such as the worktype, practice area, transaction value, fee bounds, jurisdiction, client or matter context, relevant dates, or the document you want the agent to review.
What Happens Next
The agent may answer directly, ask a clarifying question, run a search or calculation, review an uploaded document, save a new Ayora Quote Builder quote, update an existing quote, or produce a downloadable file. When it saves a new quote, the agent returns a quote card with an OPEN QUOTE action so you can open and review the result. If the agent uses underlying data or calculations, it should explain the result in plain language so you can decide what to do next.
For quote and matter workflows, review the output before relying on it. The agent can help assemble, compare, and draft information, but you remain responsible for confirming assumptions, checking extracted facts, and applying professional judgement.
Limits and Review Expectations
The agent's results depend on the data, permissions, configuration, and context available to it. Some capabilities may not be enabled for every user or organisation.
Before using agent output in a client-facing or commercial context:
- Check extracted document facts against the original document.
- Confirm quote assumptions, worktypes, characteristics, fee bounds, and pricing inputs.
- Review generated narrative for tone, accuracy, and completeness.
- Confirm any saved quote, quote update, or matter update is correct.
- Treat analysis as decision support, not as a replacement for professional review.
